A curious girl, a magical globe, and a whole wide world.

Idara is five years old. She has rich melanin skin, soft braided hair laced with shimmering gold beads, and a smile that arrives a half-second before she speaks. Her wardrobe is a riot of Ankara patterns — dresses, jackets, the occasional coat — and her favorite words are "why?" and "again!"
When the magical globe begins to glow on her bedroom shelf, Idara knows it's time for a new adventure. The globe lifts her up and away — to the savannas of Kenya, the cherry blossoms of Tokyo, the bright fabric markets of Accra — and gently returns her home each evening, with a head full of new words and a heart full of new friends.

What she believes

Where she goes next
Brazil, India, Morocco, Iceland… the globe decides! New books arrive a few times each year.
